This Cannabis Life Plans a Wedding

Curious how you can incorporate cannabis into your wedding without upsetting guests and getting the dreaded eye roll or look of judgment? Don’t worry, you aren’t alone. This has been my life for the past nine months as Mike and I have embarked on our wedding journey.

As someone in the cannabis industry, it’s a no brainer that I want to have weed and acknowledge the plant my fiance and I love at our wedding. However, the reality is we have family and a few guests that aren’t exactly against cannabis, but they also aren’t jumping for joy when they realize they’ll be around it.

Now some people would say “It’s your wedding, do what you want!” While I do agree and plan to do what I want, I’m going to make sure it’s done in a way that leaves everyone happy. One of my top priorities is always making sure everyone feels welcome and respected. Even in our home, you won’t walk in to see bongs, joints, and tons of weed out. It’s a known fact that I smoke and enjoy cannabis, I don’t need to push it in everyone’s face. So, of course, there will be cannabis at our wedding, it’ll just be done in a subtle way. The same way we keep cannabis in our home.

If you’re a bride like me and you absolutely want cannabis on your big day, but a bud bar and full-blown weed wedding isn’t your vibe, here are my suggestions:

Create a designated smoking area

Smoking isn’t everyone’s thing, and that’s okay. If you’re planning to provide cannabis or know that you or some guests will be smoking at the wedding, designate an area for it. Set out a few ashtrays and provide the weed if you’d like. You can even rent awesome lounge furniture to bring in the exact vibes that you want. Here’s a first look sneak peek at the lounge furniture we’ve decided on for our big day!

If you are providing smoking options for guests, make sure that everything is clearly labeled to ensure they know what they’re smoking. I recommend offering at least two to three strain options, one of those being a CBD joint. Luckily, Kush Queen dropped their hemp pre-roll just in time for our wedding.

Side note for the brides: Buy these for yourself. These joints keep you clear-minded and alert while easing all the stress and body tension. The perfect wedding planning joint, if I do say so myself.

A nod to smoking without the cannabis

Having a little something like personalized matchboxes or lighters is a really great way to give the nod to smoking without making it about cannabis. It’s also nice because all guests can take it home and it will be used, even if it’s just to light candles or hold on to as a keepsake.

CBD bath bombs as wedding favors

After a night of partying and celebrating love, or in our case, a full weekend, some relaxing time is a must. Gifting everyone at the wedding a KQ bath bomb allows guests, family, and your wedding party to do just that. It’s the perfect way to say “Thank you, now go prioritize yourself.” (Seriously, your wedding party will thank you.)

The real question: How do you decide which bath bomb to go with? I decided on the immunity bath bomb because it’s white and matches the wedding decor. You can go this route and choose based on your color scheme or you can provide whichever bath bomb is your favorite. Still not sure? Get the love blend. It’s my personal favorite and it’s obvious why you chose it.

Now it’s time to figure out how to display the bath bombs. There are a few factors in this…

First, decide if you want assigned seating. If you do, do you want the wedding favor to act as the nameplate? This is what we decided on. We got small white bags from Target, printed names and stickered them on.

Not into having the favor incorporated in the plating set up? Wrap them up and tie a tag on them with each guests name and their table number. Whether you’re doing assigned seating or just assigning which table to sit at, this idea works wonderfully!

If you don’t want to have the bath bomb as a part of the seating assignment at all, I would set up a table and display the bath bombs nicely. Include a frame with a note about the bath bomb and letting guests know that these are in fact for taking home.

Whatever you do decide to do for your big day, just remember the day is YOURS. There’s no right or wrong way to plan and design a wedding. That’s actually the beauty of weddings; each one is unique and represents that couple and their love. Do what feels right to you, and everything else will fall into place.

And don’t forget to take a moment for yourself. The bride deserves a bath too!
